and A Clockwork Orange (short review of the novel)

A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Clockwork Orange is successful in terms of achieving its goal of becoming an ideal postmodern piece of literature and provoking the thoughts of readers.
I like Burgess's jargon (although it felt a bit inconvenient sometimes) and how he wrote precisely and straight-to-the-point from the first page up to the last. No time is wasted on arbitary thought-descriptions and unnecessary info, which is a common case among first-person narratives. The protagonist's story is haunting yet very amusing at times.
